Fund Raising Campaign

Memoria Abierta is celebrating its tenth anniversary. We are growing and the results of our tasks are daily more solid and visible.

We always sustain that work on memory cannot be done in solitude. That is why we are today once again making contact with all those who support us and share the efforts and endeavors of Memoria Abierta to ensure that this collective project will outlive us as a source of knowledge for future generations.

We have for many years been making an enormous effort to diversify the sources of financing for our projects, while maintaining absolute autonomy over all decision making. Today we need to expand the support that enables us to develop our daily activities and intensify the scope of our work. It is for this reason that we are launching this Fund Raising Campaign.

Individual contributions may be made on a monthly or one time only basis through DineroMail or PayPal (safe and simple systems for making transfers or payments through Internet) or by means of a deposit in our bank account.

Destination of the funds

The funds Memoria Abierta collects through this campaign will be assigned to meet two crucial needs::

  • Public consultation room. We are receiving more and more requests for access to the reference material we recover and produce. Nevertheless, our consulting room does not have the tools (equipment and furniture) to cope with this growing demand.

  • Storage and preservation of our heritage. We need to update the technology used to store the great volume of data comprising Memoria Abierta archives, facilitate access to them and ensure their safekeeping.
