The
present publication provides a
transcription of the papers presented
during the Workshop held to promote
reflection on the possible uses
of the sites used for purposes
of State terrorism, bearing in
mind the troubling relationship
between the centers and the memories
of those who passed through them
and of society as a whole.
The Worshop
– held on August 31, 2009,
at the General San Martín
Cultural Center with the support
of the International Coalition
of Sites of Conscience –
comprised three panels: Memory
and city: the transformation of
urban spaces; Monuments: a means
of memorialization in the city;
and Experiences in the treatment
of space in the reclaimed sites.
