In the 1980s, during an event that
took place in Las Heras Park, the Mothers of the
Plaza de Mayo created banners displaying the lives
of their children. On the banners, the Mothers
included various objects such as school report
cards, pictures, letters, poems, etc., to share
the lives and ideals of the victims of state terrorism.
This collection seeks to recover victims’s
identity, which terrorism attempted to strip away
from them. However, it is also an invitation to
remembrance and social awareness.
This unique material constitutes a form of resistance
to forgetting the past and carries on the fight
for identity. The archived information on this
collection can be accessed through our catalogue.
Many archives also include a digital image of
the banner. |
