The elaboration of the interactive CD about the Clandestine
Detention Center is now in its final phase. The CD consists
of a multimedia combination of sources and testimonies
that allow for an approximation to the characteristics
and operation of El Vesubio. This material was accepted
as proof in the First Organization of the Army Trial,
in the federal court N3 of Dr. Daniel Rafecas.
Shedding light on the arduous path, they have followed,
the Commission of Family Members, Survivors, and Friends
of the Victims collaborated in this undertaking contributing
material and information that they had accumulated over
various years. At the same time, they allowed us to
incorporate into the CD six fragments of testimonies
of survivors of the clandestine detention centre, whose
complete versions form part of Memoria Abierta’s
Oral Archive.
Fragments of these testimonies combined with animated
volumetric reconstructions of the demolished building
interact with each other and try to describe some of
the experiences and gestures of resistance to the system
of extermination implemented by the last military dictatorship
in Argentina.
The CD also includes the history of the center, its
introduction into military territory- apt for the development
of practices of extermination- and a description of
the struggle of the relatives and survivors to maintain
the memory of what took place.
